Awards
During my eight and a half years as senior editor, the Mennonite Brethren Herald won 25 awards, including the following awards for pieces which I either wrote entirely myself or for which I was one of several writers:
- 1992 Canadian Church Press first-place award in the category “Best feature – magazines and journals” for “Sexual Abuse: An Analysis”.
- 1997 Canadian Church Press first-place award in the category “Best feature – magazines and journals” for “Infertility”.
- 1997 Canadian Church Press honourable mention in the category “Editorial” for “Lessons from History”.
- 1997 Canadian Church Press honourable mention in the category “Treatment of a News Event” for “Evangelical Assembly a Positive Experience”.
- 2001 Canadian Church Press honourable mention in the category “Best feature – magazines and journals” for “Mental Health series” (Mental health: I and Mental health: II).
- 2001 Evangelical Press Association third-place award in the category “Editorial” for “Choosing Children”.
- 2002 Evangelical Press Association first-place award in the category “Evangelistic Article” for “Good News in Bad Times: What Can We Learn from Terrorist Attacks and Other Disasters?”
